James brought along this wonderful photo of his granddad who served in the first world war and fought at Gallipoli, which is remembered this year after 100 years. Anzac Day is celebrated tomorrow here in New Zealand and this wonderful old photo serves as reminder of the proud and brave solders who served for their country. Jame originally just wanted the photo restored but once it was restored I suggested that it be made into colour and this has really brought this old photo to life again. I have restored these old photos for Lorraine from the contact sheet proofs. Back in the day, photographers had to print small proofs for customers to choose from. These were then enlarged to be placed in a photo album. These contact proofs were from a medium format camera and still have a quite bit of detail. They were badly creased and cracked.
